The Second R* Patch Veronika Kailová | 26.03.2009 23:30

R* has proven once more that they really do care about their customers by preparing this useful patch full of fixes and tweaks. The general advantage of this patch is in expanded graphics settings which gives you better control over the resultant visual aspect of game on your PC and enables other slides to make your game run faster.
 
Patch:

Graphics fixes / tweaks:
  • Graphics menu:
- Added "Water Quality", "Shadow Quality" and "Reflection Resolution" settings.
- Added "Definition" and "VSync" switches.
  • Optimalized rendering.
  • Optimalized vertical sync.
  • Fixed bug with reflections for NVidia 7 series.
Fixed 1.0.1.0 issues:
  • Supported Direct input is switched off and may be only activated by using direct parameter "-usedirectinput"
  • Supported controllers:

- Logitech RumblePad 2
- Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2
- Saitek P2500
  • Supported wheels:
- Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
- Logitech Wingman Formula GP Wheel

- Driving Force Pro
- Driving Force
- Formula Force
  • Added parameter "-notimefix", for users who were affected by a bug from first patch which caused that game to run much faster or slower.
  • Fixed sound cycle issue with first patch and no-sound issue after the benchmark.
Crash Fixes:
  • Game loading fixed - sometimes game just didn't start up.
  • Fixed loading screen - there was an infinite loading bug.
  • Fixed RESC10 error code. Just restart your computer if it ever pops up again.
  • Fixed the "GRAND THEFT AUTO IV has encountered a problem and needs to close" bug.
Video editor fixes:
  • Required name of video before saving.
Others:
  • Fixed previously non-working Wireless 360 controler.

Let me introduce you to our new website. It took exactly 77 days to launch this site. Everything goes better and faster when you have a strong team.

I could never have managed to translate the site without a team of translators. They worked really hard and you are looking at the result of their efforts now. If you want to know something about these nice guys look here.

But the lion’s share belongs also to people from the proof-reading team – Alix, the only girl in the project (expect me), Colxfile, Carl Caas, who is new to the team, and Paul, who helped with several articles.
I must also thank the admin, who helped with everything especially technical support.

We are going to keep on translating news and articles from the Czech version, so you should get something new to read or download every week.
